(By Wang Guangqi/ photo by Wang Jiahao) On June 26, a delegation of four led by Shi Yongqing, Deputy Director of Foreign Affairs Office of CPC Henan Provincial Committee, visit the university to inspect and conduct research on the work of international students coming to China. President Zhang Baofeng and Vice President Liu Honglin attend the research symposium. Managing directors of relevant departments participate. The symposium is chaired by Liu Honglin.
Liu Honglin, on behalf of the university, first welcomes the arrival of the experts from the research group and expresses sincere gratitude to the Foreign Affairs Office of CPC Henan Provincial Committee for their long-term care, assistance, and support to the university.
Zhang Baofeng then introduces the basic situation of our university, the current status of international exchange and cooperation, and the progress of international students coming to China, with focuses on introducing the overall situation, characteristics, highlights, bottlenecks, and difficulties of our university's international students work in recent years from three aspects: the conditions for international education, the cultivation of international students in China, and the prospects for the work of international students studying in China. Zhang Baofeng says that the next step would be to refine the guidance of the research team and speed up the implementation. Under the guidance, help and support of Foreign Affairs Office of CPC Henan Provincial Committee, we would promote the high-quality development of education for international students studying in China, further improve the quality of international students training, strive to build the brand of "Study in Nanyang Normal University", serve the construction of "the university with international characteristics", and make new contributions to promoting the high-quality development of "the Belt and Road Initiative".
Shi Yongqing introduces the purpose and background of this research, fully affirms the work of Nanyang Normal University for international students studying in China, proposes specific guidance and requests the high-quality development of education for international students studying in China.
Afterwards, the delegation visit the international students' apartments and libraries to inspect the learning and living conditions of the international students and also communicate with the representatives of the international students. (Edited by Shi Shujing)
