(By Wang Guangqi) On April 12th, the 42nd Sports Meeting of Nanyang Normal University is held in the stadium on a clear and sunny day. School of International Education actively organize international students to participate in the opening ceremony and sign up for the sports meeting. Representatives of international students compete hard and adhere to the principle of "friendship first, competition second". They have competed with their international students’ spirit and demonstrated the high level of international students, making them a beautiful and unique scenery for this sports meeting.

During the sports meeting, good news of international students frequently arrive. On April 12, Diabate Aboubakar (Chinese name: Li Qiang), an international student majored in business administration from Cote d'Ivoire, achieve the best score of 11.80 seconds in the 100 meters preliminary race, and later on win the championship in the men's 200 meters final on April 13 with absolute advantage. International student Mapangou Freddy (Chinese name: Fuaidi) majored in civil engineering participate in the event of solid ball throwing for the first time and achieve an excellent result of eighth place in the university.

The sports meeting fully showcase the international students' spirit of competition, state of being optimistic and confident, and a good manifestation of teamwork and cooperation. It is hoped that international students can apply these sports spirits to their future Chinese language learning and professional knowledge learning, contributing to the well-telling of China’s stories and the spread of China's voices, and playing a positive role in promoting the communications between people's hearts and minds of different countries.
