(By Yang Tian & Wang Guangqi) On the morning of February 15, vice president Liu Honglin leads the heads of Department of International Exchange and Cooperation (School of International Education), Logistics Management and Service Center and other departments to inspect the apartment building of students and international teachers.

Liu Honglin first learns about the situation of international students returning to university this semester and the preparation for the start of the new semester, and asks for getting active contact with the students who have not returned for the time being, to urge them and pay attention to their safe return to university. In the common area, Liu Honglin inspects the public facilities such as the water cooler and washing machines, and the progress of the “cultural wall” on the sixth floor of international students’ dormitory. He requests that Department of International Exchange and Cooperation carefully search out the representative essence of Chinese culture, tell China stories well to international students in a pleasant and acceptable way, spread China voices, and present a true, multi-dimensional and panoramic view of China.

Liu Honglin then visits the international students’ dormitory, engages in warm conversation with international students, inquires about their holiday life and study in detail, encourages them to work hard, especially on “reading” and “writing” in listening, speaking, reading and writing, to study flexibly and use creatively, to learn deeply and skillfully, and to make greater contributions to the cultural exchanges between China and their home countries, and give instructions on the matter of examination put forward by the international students. Liu Honglin approves of the cleanliness and tidiness of dormitory rooms, firefighting facilities and other logistical support facilities of the international student’s dormitory, and calls for everyone’s effort to work together to create a safe and comfortable accommodation environment.
