(By Yang Tian, Photo by Wang Guangqi) On the afternoon of May 1st, School of International Education and School of Law of Nanyang Normal University jointly hold a public interest event named "Crossing Mountains and Seas, Meeting Law in Henan" in Smart Room 134, Science and Technology Building, to raise the awareness of ecological protection in the middle route of South-to-North Water Diversion Project. Leaders from School of International Education, School of Law, Department of International Exchange and Cooperation, together with teachers, international students and students from School of Law participate in this event.
The event elaborates on two significant water resources projects in Chinese history: the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, and the spirits of unification and dedication behind the South-to-North Water Diversion Project. During the event, each student further understands the importance of water resource protection by writing the three fonts of the Chinese character "water", watching the animation of water resource protection and learning the relevant laws of water resources protection. The event ends in the recitation of "Flow, Water of the Yangtze River" by all the teachers and students.
The purpose of this event is to enable international students to know more about the greatness of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project, strengthen the friendship between Chinese and international students, and also provide a platform for law school students to promote the "One bowl of Water from Nanyang" public interest law popularization organization.
