Nanyang Normal University (correspondent: text & photo: Wang Guangqi) In order to implement the relevant work requirements at the beginning of a new semester for international students under the epidemic prevention and control, on the afternoon of March 5, the School of International Education carefully planned and actively organized the first class of the new semester for international students in the Intelligence Room 228 of the Science and Technology Building. Cui Lei, Chief of the Exit-Entry Administration Division of Nanyang Public Security Bureau, Li Hongwei, policeman, and Yang Tian and Wang Guangqi of the Department of Overseas Students Management of the School of International Education were invited as the keynote speakers. The relevant personnel of the School of International Education and all the international students participated in the class, which was presided over by Wang Zhiping, Deputy Director of the School of International Education. The class was started with Li Hongwei’s interpretation of The Regulations of the People’s Republic of China on Administration of the Entry and Exit of Foreigners and other relevant laws and regulations. Officer Li stressed that foreign students need to manage two things well while studying in China: behaviors and time. Managing the behaviors well means that their behaviors must abide by Chinese laws and regulations and respect Chinese customs; managing the time well indicates that they need to focus on the expiry dates of their visas or residence permits, handle the extension procedures on time to avoid punishment or deportation. Officer Li pointed out that international students are not allowed to engage in illegal part-time jobs and business activities, whether intentionally or unintentionally, while studying in China. Cui Lei said that all foreign students are welcome to study in China and all police offers will not be reluctant to help them and worthy of their trust. At the same time, he reminded all foreign students that they should pay attention to personal and property safety and stay vigilant to all kinds of telecommunications frauds and wished everybody a happy life and study in China. Subsequently, Yang Tian explained the management measures of scholarships for international students of Nanyang Normal University, elaborating on the types, sources, standards and application requirements, evaluation process, and issuance management of scholarships. Wang Guangqi introduced the high-quality development of the enrollment and cultivation of international students in our university, and explained patiently and meticulously the enrollment publicity, talent cultivation and daily management and service.
