Nanyang Normal University (correspondents: text: Wang Guangqi, photo: Liu Aonan and Wang Saisai) In order to enhance international students’ interests in learning Chinese and encourage them to apply traditional Chinese knowledge, the First International Students’ Traditional Chinese Knowledge Contest, hosted by the School of International Education, was held in the conference room on the third floor of the Science and Technology Building on November 28. Judges were composed of teachers from Nanyang Institute of Technology, Henan Polytechnic Institute, Nanyang Medical College, as well as the School of International Education and School of Literature of Nanyang Normal University. All international students and some Chinese students of Nanyang Normal University attended the contest. After a primary selection, a total of seven groups were qualified to participate in the contest. The contest consisted of two rounds: the preliminary and the final. The preliminary round included two sessions of Required Questions - “Forestall Your Opponent” and Race Against Time - “Take Steps Toward Your Goal”. After intense competition, three groups with the best results won a place in the final. In the final stage, the atmosphere reached its peak. Through the two sessions of Required Questions - “Forestall Your Opponent” and Additional Questions - "Grab the Opportunity", ASHIR, MARMA KRASOAONG and DHORNOR TARIR DUOK GAI won the championship. The group led by KHATTI ABDUL MAJEED and the group led by KIM HYOUNGMIN won second and third place, respectively. At last, the judges presented honorary certificates to the award-winning international students and took a group photo with them. (editor Yu Zhengdao)
