Our University Holds a Symposium for Foreign Teachers and International Students

Nanyang Normal University (Correspondents Ding Dongliang, Li Lei/text Zhang Kunyi/photo) To study the spirit of the reply letter from General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee and President Xi Jinping to the international students of Peking University, do a good job of the management of foreign teachers and international students of the university and welcome the centenary of the founding of the Party, the university held a symposium for foreign teachers and international students in 2021 in the east conference hall on the first floor of the administrative building on June 23. Party Secretary Lu Zhiwen and Vice President Liu Honglin attended the symposium. The staff  in charge of the Office of the Party Committee, the Publicity Department of the Party Committee, the Dean's Office, the Alumni Office, the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the School of Economics and Management, the School of Computer Science and Technology, the School of Civil Engineering and Construction, and the representatives of foreign teachers and international students attended the symposium. The symposium was presided over by Liu Honglin.

Liu Honglin expressed his cordial greetings and ardent expectations for foreign teachers and international students. He said that under the guidance of Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era, Nanyang Normal University adheres to open schooling and is committed to promoting international cooperation.

Marcelo Sprovieri Mendonca, an American teacher, respected the objective truth, told the fact of China's development with his personal experience, praised the CPC in sincere words as a party that works for the welfare of the people, and admired all that the CPC had done.

JOKHIO SAIR MUHAMMAD, an international student from Pakistan, expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the care and help he received from the university during the epidemic and expressed his family's heartfelt message, "The great Chinese vaccine has put his family at ease."

The other 10 representatives of international students from 5 countries expressed their feelings around all aspects of study and life in university, and excitedly told everyone that they would definitely tell their friends and relatives about their personal experiences, and encourage them to come to China to visit and experience the most real China.

Lu Zhiwen listened carefully to the speeches of foreign teachers and international students, fully affirmed the hard work of foreign teachers and the positive role they played in promoting teaching, research, foreign exchange and cooperation of the university, and requested the relevant departments to seriously take the opinions and suggestions of foreign teachers and international students, and effectively help foreign teachers and international students solve the difficulties they encountered in their work, life and study.

Lu Zhiwen conveyed the spirit of Xi Jinping's Reply Letter to International Students of Peking University issued on June 21. He encouraged foreign teachers and international students to visit Henan and other parts of China to "get to know the real China more deeply and introduce their ideas and experiences to more people, to play an active role in promoting people-to-people exchanges among people from different countries".

Lu Zhiwen hoped that foreign teachers and international students would shoulder the mission and responsibility of being the messengers of cultural exchange between the two countries and make their contributions to enhance the friendship between the two countries.

The symposium aimed to understand the situation of foreign teachers and international students, made them trust the university and love China more, enhanced their sense of belonging to the university and guided them to participate in the high-level construction and open education with a more active attitude, and contribute to the rapid development of Nanyang Normal University.
