[Lecture 1] Construction of Functionalized Gold Clusters
Lecturer: Prof. Sun Di (Shandong University)
Date: April 25, 2025 (Friday)
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Venue: Conference Room, 2nd Floor, East Campus Administration Building Introduction to the Lecture: As molecular nanoparticles, gold clusters have rich structures and properties and very promising application prospects. The report will cover the construction and growth mechanism of ultra-small gold clusters, the synthesis of near-infrared luminescent gold clusters, and the mechanism of near-infrared luminescence. Finally, it will introduce the application of the crystallization methodology of water-soluble gold clusters.
Introduction to the Speaker: Presenter Introduction: Sun Di, a professor and doctoral supervisor at Shandong University. Mainly engaged in the research of silver cluster chemistry, he has carried out systematic and in-depth research on scientific issues such as the controllable synthesis and reaction mechanism of precisely structured silver clusters, and has achieved a series of innovative achievements, making important contributions to the rapid development of silver cluster chemistry. He has published more than 100 SCI papers.
[Lecture 2] Coupled Artificial Photosynthetic System of Clusters and Photosensitizers
Lecturer: Prof. Zhang Zhiming (Tianjin University of Technology)
Date: April 25, 2025 (Friday)
Time: 10:00 a.m.
Venue: Conference Room, 2nd Floor, East Campus Administration Building Introduction to the Lecture: Professor Zhang has carried out research work on constructing a highly efficient cluster-based artificial photosynthetic system: 1) He has proposed a new method for the precise assembly of hetero-metal centers and controllably synthesized hetero-metal clusters with highly active sites; 2) He has developed a co-modification strategy of dual chromophores with energy level matching, constructed an internal molecular dual-energy absorption and transfer channel, and synthesized photosensitizers with long excited state lifetimes and strong visible light absorption, providing strong sensitized light-absorbing units for constructing cluster-based artificial photosynthetic systems; 3) By orderly coupling hetero-metal clusters and photosensitizers, he has established an efficient electron transfer path and constructed a coupled catalytic system whose photocatalytic hydrogen production efficiency and CO2 reduction efficiency are much higher than those of homogeneous systems.
Introduction to the Speaker: Prof. Zhang Zhiming is the Dean of the School of Materials Science and Engineering at Tianjin University of Technology. He has published 46 papers and been authorized 7 invention patents, some of which have been transformed. He has won 3 provincial and ministerial awards such as the First Prize of Natural Science of Tianjin.
